ASID MEMBERS

ASID's members reside all over the world, creating the spaces where people work, live, play, heal, relax, congregate and learn. 30,000+ members and growing, ASID represents the vast subspecialties of commercial and residential design and the industry that supports them. We are your organization. The only organization of its kind representing the design profession, ASID exists to provide support, education, information and representation for its members. ASID Appellation

The ASID appellation is a tremendous advantage to you professionally, and distinguishes you as an ASID member within the interior design industry! Use the recognized appellation in your marketing efforts, correspondence and other forms of communications with your clients and vendors. Note: Applicants may not use the ASID appellation in any form until notified of acceptance in writing. Use of the appellation prior to acceptance will jeopardize applicant's chance for membership approval.

 


 

Membership Type

Professional Membership
ASID's highest level of membership is reserved for practitioners who have completed a course of accredited education and/or equivalent work experience in interior design and successfully completed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination.

 


Requirements:
Proof of passage of the NCIDQ examination. (Professional Membership in ARIDO (Canada) and CODDI (Puerto Rico) is transferable to ASID upon proof of said membership)

  • Professional Members : $420

 

Allied Practitioner Membership

Practicing interior designers who fulfill one of the following requirements: a four or five-year bachelor's degree with a major in interior design or architecture; or a two or three-year degree or certificate in interior design; or a minimum of six years full-time work in interior design or architecture.

 

 

Requirements:
Official college transcript and/or technical school records verifying degree obtained and detailed job description and three confidential references verifying employment in the interior design profession.

Allied Practitioner

  • First and Second Years : $280
  • Third Year : $315
  • Fourth Year : $365
  • Fifth Year : $420

Allied Practitioner Leave of Absense

 

Industry Partners

Members include interior design industry manufacturers and their representatives, related trade associations and market centers. Industry Partners provide opportunities for interaction between interior designers and the interior furnishing industry that supplies services and manufactured products.

Student Membership

Membership is available to students enrolled in an interior design program where an ASID student chapter exists.

 

International

Qualified interior designers whose residence and principal place of business lie outside the boundaries of an ASID chapter. Requirements: Official college transcript and/or technical school records verifying degree obtained and detailed job description and three confidential references verifying employment in the interior design profession.
